Dear Client, In India, as soon as you turn 18, you are considered a legal adult as per the Indian Majority Act of 1875, along with Article 19 of the Indian Constitution, which gives you complete freedom to move about and live wherever you want in the country. Your parents' guardianship automatically ceases at this age, and they cannot in any way restrict or bring you back home against your will. They can, of course, file a missing person complaint, but the police's involvement is only to check if you are safe and sound; once you inform them that you are a legal adult living of your own free will in another place, the issue should be closed. If they try to restrict you physically or harass you, you can approach the Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act, 2005, or take a lawyer's help to get a restraining order. I hope this answer is helpful. In case of further queries, please do not hesitate to contact us.
Thank You.
