Dear Client,

In many states “grama kantam” land is meant for villagers’ house‑sites and is not automatically free for all panchayat property, and long‑standing use and possession by your family can support a claim even if registration is not perfect. To get relief, you should first collect all village‑records, old possession‑papers, tax‑receipts, and photographs showing at least 10–12 years of continuous use, then approach the revenue/land‑records authority (Tehsildar / Talati) to regularize the portion as your family’s “puramboke” or house‑site and, if the panchayat refuses, file a civil suit for declaration of title and permanent injunction against the sarpanch, treating the matter as a quiet title suit.

I hope this helps and if you have any further issues do not hesitate to contact us.
